Childrens Legal Services, a division of the Department of Children and Families (DCF), is seeking an experienced litigation attorney (admitted to Florida Bar for a minimum of two years) for our Gainesville, Florida office.
Attorneys for Childrens Legal Services represent the people of the State of Florida, through DCF, and advocate for the best interests of Floridas children in dependency proceedings under Chapter 39, Florida Statutes. The successful applicant will have a strong interest in child advocacy, good academic credentials, strong writing skills, excellent communication skills, a keen interest in courtroom litigation, excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, a positive attitude, and be a member of the Florida Bar. Applicants with a track record of successful litigation experience are encouraged . Moot court, trial team, litigation clinic, advocacy certificate, and/or law review participation in law school are a plus.
The starting salary is 52,000 per year, and includes an excellent benefits package with health benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, four weeks paid vacation, paid state holidays, a personal day, paid sick leave, and a state retirement package.
