Brief Description of Job Duties:
Evaluates and manages mental disorders for persons served in and adult state mental health treatment institution. Plans individualized treatment based on diagnosis criteria. Conducts daily building treatment rounds and orders psychiatric intervention as required. Makes clinical recommendations including psychotropic reviews to improve patient functioning. Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary therapeutic team assigned to each patient. Participates in admission procedures by completing a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and documenting admission notes, admission orders and a preliminary treatment plan. Obtains patient/guardian consent for psychotropic treatment. Performs annual psychiatric summaries on assigned patients and approves clinical summaries to the courts. Provides educational information to patients on illness and treatment. Participates in legal proceeding involving persons served.
This occupation requires licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statute: or licensure as an osteopathic physician pursuant to Chapter 459, Florida Statute; or a current Public Health Certificate issued by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners pursuant to Section 458.316, Florida Statutes. Candidates must also possess a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license in good standing.

Background Screening Requirement:
