Job Summary Responsible for developing intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces for our products. This mid-level position is able to work independently on significant design projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborates with Designers, Business Analysts, Usability Analysts, Customers, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and user goals of each project. Provides visual design expertise and feedback. Creates low fidelity sketches, high fidelity mockups, and/or prototypes as needed. Transforms wireframe concepts and business rules into innovative visual designs, screen layouts, navigation systems and user-interface elements using typography and color palettes that are consistent with the corporate branding. Works with developers to implement the design and program the front-end UI code. Utilizes, maintains and expands the design pattern library to ensure consistent use of standards and best practices. Defines and contributes significant design patterns that are applicable to a broad spectrum of use cases. Works as a member of a high-performance agile development team, where effective communication, project planning, and dependability are paramount. Stays abreast of industry trends and best practices of visual styles and design patterns. Qualifications Education BS in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience. Experience 2+ years of software design experience. Experience with Healthcare is preferred. Experience with Agile development is preferred. Skills/Knowledge Understands all aspects of design: including information architecture, visual design, industry UI standards for desktop and web-based applications, and UX best practices. Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Ability to program in HTLM/CSS/Javascript or other UI coding language (eg. XAML, Xcode, etc). Experience with a programming IDE (Visual Studio, Xcode, etc) and source control (Git/Garrett) is preferred. Experience with a CSS preprocessor is preferred. Artistic, with an established sense for visual style. Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills.
