This position will work at the Alachua clinic, SW Clinic or the Main site.
Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to work 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 1 hour lunch or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a hour lunch. Must be willing to accept salary of $24,960.00. Must have at least one year of experience using computers and computer programs such as Word, Excel, or Medical Client databases. Must be bilingual in Spanish.
At least 6 months experience cashiering: collecting fees via cash, check and credit card transactions preferred. At least 6 months experience verifying Florida Medicaid, Medicare or third party insurance coverage through FLMMIS, AVAILITY, or another electronic method preferred. At least 6 months experience using an Electronic Health Record preferred. At least 6 months experience scheduling appointments through an Electronic Health Record preferred. At least 6 months experience with Florida Shots preferred.

<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;">POSITION DESCRIPTION
Acts as front line receptionist assisting clients with information regarding the health department and checking clients in for appointments. Makes new patient files as needed. Makes appointments for clients both in person and via telephone. Ensures all callers are health department patients. Queries Patients to determine the proper clinic for services. Maintains proper documentation required during special clinics such as STD and Triage, tracking clients by number, notifying supervisor of walk-ins over and beyond the allowed amount.
Interviews clients evaluates income and family status to determine if clients are covered by private insurance in order to determine need and eligibility for health department services, PEPW Medicaid, and/or FP Waiver Medicaid. Completes and processes necessary forms to open charts and document eligibility for services. Makes phone calls to verify current coverage of insurance. Provides information on clinic services and guidelines. Assists clients who want to change from their current Medipass or HMO provider to the health department as their primary care provider. Assists clients with completing the Healthy Kids Application. Inputs client's original demographic insurance information into the computer system. Updates demographic information as changes occur. Submits appropriate verification of client identification changes to CSR personnel. Ensures all records and lab slips have updated labels before routing to clinic and disposes of all old labels. Secures authorization for treatment for clients who present with Medipass or HMO providers other than ACHD.
Reviews medical release requests submitted by agencies of clients for accuracy and confidentiality, controls the destination of releases. Logs release requests. Sends releases to outlying clinics as necessary. Copies medical records. Documents information in medical records as changes occur. Insure proper routing of copied records to requesters. Returns records to the record room in a timely manner. Initiates correspondence if more information is required or an error is encountered.
